The Food and Beverage team at Thornberry Creek strives to create incredible dining experiences for our guests, from working to bring in the best local ingredients, to developing custom menus for a special event. Need to find out about special dietary options for a banquet? No problem. Looking for a wine for that special anniversary? We can make it happen. We are guest-focused and here to serve you.
Zach Knight, Food & Beverage Director
Zach is the newest addition to the team at Thornberry Creek, having started in September of 2014. His experience in incredible markets such as Miami, Seattle, and Phoenix have molded him into the superior "foodie" he is today! Most recently, Zach assisted in the total renovation and re-branding of a restaurant in the Phoenix area that is now one of the hottest spots in its market.
Zach enjoys traveling, fly fishing, golf, and the occasional cigar. His knowledge of craft beers, spirits, and wine is supreme - just try him! About Thornberry, Zach says, "Thornberry presents an opportunity unlike any other, with its facilities and product. I'm all about the guests, meeting them, connecting with them, and ultimately exceeding their expectations. Thornberry allows me to impact lives on a daily basis, and I look forward to it each and every morning."
Ashley Nero, Executive Chef
We are very excited to have Ashley on our Thornberry team. Her experience in new restaurant launches and complete menu overhauls is amazing. With a passion for teaching and inspiring those around her, she fills an important role at Thornberry. She has lead teams in many different segments of the market, from large hotel banquet operations to multi-unit free standing restaurants, and even assisted living facilities.
In her time away from work, Ashley enjoys spending time with her 2 rescued dogs and cat. She is an avid baker and particularly enjoys wedding cake design. Ashley is also an advisor at Fox Valley Technical College and is currently working towards her Bachelors Degree from Le Cordon Bleu. She can usually be found in a kitchen whipping up something healthy and tasty. When asked about her favorite things about Thornberry Creek she says, “I like the feeling of a family environment.”
Steve Paustenbach, Restaurant Manager
Steve joined our team in September and has brought a breath of fresh guest service from his first day. With over 25 years in the hospitality industry Steve's insight and guidance on exceeding our guest's expectations is unparalleled. His passion for excellence and relentless pursuit on improvement is assisting in driving the vision that you see today. When he’s not exceeding our guest's expectations, Steve enjoys spending time with his family and a weekly Sudoku puzzle. You might even catch him on the links as he's been golfing at Thornberry since it was just the Iroquois 9.
