Our Team

The Food and Beverage team at Thornberry Creek strives to create incredible dining experiences for our guests, from working to bring in the best local ingredients, to developing custom menus for a special event. Need to find out about special dietary options for a banquet? No problem. Looking for a wine for that special anniversary? We can make it happen. We are guest-focused and here to serve you.

Donelle Walters, Food & Beverage Director
With an extensive background in hospitality, Donelle joined the Thornberry team in May of 2000 from the Midway Hotel, where she was the Food and Beverage Director for over 15 years. She's a certified Food and Beverage Executive courtesy of the American Hotel & Lodging Education Institute, and was awarded "Manager of the Year" by the Midway Hospitality Group for her leadership across the 5 states included in the nomination process. Donelle's presence and understanding of anticipatory guest service is what sets her apart from the competition. Just ask the hundreds of Brides and their families she's had the pleasure of serving. They'll all agree that Donelle is best-in-class with her communication and incredible execution of events large and small.

Donelle loves reading, horseback riding, spending time with friends, and experiencing anything new! Growing up on a dairy farm, Donelle's work ethic was developed at an early age, and she can still "farm" with the best of them. Donelle's favorite aspect of working at Thornberry is "Creating lasting friendships with so many of my clients, and even having some become a part of my family."

Ken Hein, Executive Chef
Ken joined the Thornberry team in June of 2017, coming from our sister property, the Radisson - Green Bay. Ken brings his passion for cooking through many different capacities: at Thornberry he is dedicated to providing quality cuisine with consistent presentation for our guests, and in his spare time, you can find him "in the PITS," as the Pitmaster of a certified Grand Champion BBCrew. When Ken is not in the kitchen, you can find him doing anything outdoors, from camping to ATV riding and fishing. His favorite thing about working at Thornberry Creek at Oneida is the family atmosphere. "The management and employees make you feel very welcomed and have the passion to provide excellent customer service."
