We know you’re looking for something to do on summer vacation, so why not learn to play golf? Each Junior receives a gift for participating and learns the game not only through practice, but with real on-course activity! Juniors also have the ability to play our 9-hole Iroquois course for only $10 every day throughout the summer. You can’t beat that! JOSHUA R. DOXTATOR, PGA

Josh is a longtime golf instructor, with an extensive background in player development. He has been honored by both the PGA of America and U.S. Kids Golf for his leadership in player development, and he was ranked #2 “Best Instructors of the Valley” in the state of Arizona by an independent poll in 2013. Josh has been teaching his entire life, starting with clinics he ran for neighborhood kids on his hometown street when he was a Junior himself! Teaching professionally since 2005, Josh has conducted over 7,000 lessons, clinics, and classes to players of all skill levels, including TOUR players. Using both V1 and JC Golf motion analysis software, Josh employs specific focus and action to attain results quickly.

Here’s Josh on his teaching philosophy:
“Once you can understand the student’s learning style and develop a game plan that aligns with their abilities, the results can be phenomenal. Using simple verbiage and sequences, we can build a swing that fits the student, not someone else’s version of it. Attaining a successful swing sequence is easier than most believe, if steps are made through simple focus and reaction. Connection is the key to any golf swing, and using the student’s core competencies, we can build something that becomes difficult to lose or forget.”

Here’s Josh on what he likes best about teaching:
“I am blessed to be able to watch people of all skill levels tap into their true talent. Assisting in bringing that out is what I enjoy the most, and seeing the view of contentment and surprise on their faces when they reach new skill levels. Taking what is perceived as ‘broken’ or ‘defeated’ and turning it into success while building a bridge to new potential is what drives me.”

MARK BECKER, PGA

Mark has taught since 1994 and enjoys working with players of all abilities and skill levels. He has been recognized by US Kids Golf and the Wisconsin Section of the PGA, and has over 5,000 lessons, clinics, and classes under his belt. Mark brings a wealth of knowledge to the TOC Academy team!

Here’s Mark on his teaching philosophy:
“Keep it positive and simple, and good things will happen. Each individual has a unique swing and thought process. We work together to achieve maximum results. I like to begin at the starting point, the backswing. A strong backswing greatly increases the odds to have a strong finish thru the ball. The result is a simple, one-thought process that is repetitive. This creates confidence and commitment to the golf shot. Consistent results are then achieved.”

Here’s Mark on what he likes best about teaching:
“I am truly fulfilled seeing golfers of all abilities improve their golf game. I love the smiles on their faces, and it never gets old, whether they are adults or kids. Watching the kids grow up and seeing them enjoy each other and the golf course is the best reward for me. Awards are nice, but the true rewards are the stories and relationships over the years…”

JUSTIN FOX, PGA

Justin has been instructing since 2007 and was elected to Class A PGA Membership in 2011 upon graduating from Arizona State University. His passion and love for the game is evident through his teaching and continued education.

Here’s Justin on his teaching philosophy:
“Golf is hard enough, so I like to evaluate skills and focus on one or two keys at a time to help maximize the player’s ability. Fixing the big problem in a golf swing often solves many small problems. I focus on strong fundamentals and encourage the use of big muscles, because those function much more consistently than our little muscles. It’s not all about the swing, either; golf is a game, and you have to learn to play your game around the golf course. Honing your focus and mental game is just as important in the game of golf.”

Here’s Justin on what he likes best about teaching:
“It’s rewarding to see a golfer improve through your direction. The moment when it all comes together and “clicks” – they’re having more fun and enjoying the game – that’s what I like best. The camaraderie you build with the student from the first session to the last is what makes teaching great. I want people to love the game as much as I do.”

Awards and Accolades:
• Player Development Award Recipient – PGA, Colorado Section
• Lowest Round 64
